The role will be responsible for Coordinating all GC SUNS Academy programs in North Queensland and coordinating the Academy testing and selection process for North Queensland talent. In addition, the role will be responsible for player performance and individual development, working collaboratively with the North Queensland Academy staff, overseeing load management, rehabilitation and pre-habilitation programs for all North Queensland Academy members.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Induct all North Queensland regions, all ages and genders
- Conduct evaluation and appraisal / feedback processes for North Queensland Academy players
- Establish, deliver and review individual development programs for each individual within the North Queensland Academy
- Work closely with the GC SUNS Personal Excellence team to deliver appropriate personal excellence education for all North Queensland Academy members
- Ensure all players are coached in accordance with the established national curriculum and GC SUNS coaching philosophy
- Ensure that player reviews are carried out regularly, providing recommendations for development and training requirements

- A strong understanding of the requirements of the current game of AFL
- Demonstrate implementation of group and individual training sessions at the elite sporting level
- A commitment to learning and development – and a willingness to building a continuous improvement culture
- Ability to display a high level of discretion, judgement and personal commitment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills that drive the development of positive relationships,
- The ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
- Prior AFL Experience as a player (desirable)
