The Round 4 clash will take place on Saturday, 6 September at 7:15pm, bringing elite women’s football back to Far North Queensland for a third consecutive year. “The Hawks return to their home away from home in Cairns for a clash with St Kilda at Cazalys Stadium,” said Craig Lees, General Manager – AFL Cairns. “It’s a fitting occasion during Indigenous Round, allowing us to honour local culture while delivering a high-quality AFLW match to our community.” This event is proudly supported by the Queensland Government and Cairns Regional Council, whose continued investment as funding partners has helped cement Cairns as a growing hub for women’s sport and major events in the north. The fixture builds on the momentum of previous years, with 2024’s game drawing over 2,500 fans. With strong community engagement and ongoing support from the Hawthorn Football Club, AFL Cairns is hopeful of surpassing that mark in 2025. Further details around ticketing, pre-game activities and community involvement will be released in the coming weeks. |
