Want to play footy but don’t have time to train? Join AFL Cairns Division 3

AFL Cairns is launching a new social competition, AFL Cairns Division 3, to run in the 2023 season.

The competition will be played on Friday nights throughout the season, and is aimed at players who still want to be involved in footy, but cannot commit to a full season and training.

Whether you’re a veteran still keen for a kick, or a student who can’t fit a full season into your busy schedule, Division 3 is for you!

Join your mates on a Friday night and play on the best grounds in Cairns, with clubs keeping the clubroom bars open for double-header matches with umpires provided.

Competition Details

Season Start: Friday 05 May, 2023

12 games per side, with 6 bye rounds through the season. Finals will be aligned with the AFL Cairns Senior Finals, leading up to the Grand Final on Saturday September 23rd at Cazalys Stadium

Match Day: Friday nights, games commencing at 6:15pm & 7:45pm

15 minute quarters with no time on. Last touch rule applies. 18 players on the field per team, with an unlimited bench.

Rotating ground allocation with games at Cazalys Stadium, Fretwell Park, Griffiths Park, Crathern Park and Watsons Oval.

Open to ages 16-55, with exemptions available through AFL Cairns.

Umpires provided by the AFL Cairns Umpires Association.

All players must be registered in PlayHQ
