Two Far North products are chasing an AFL recall in this week’s edition of Boundary Riding.

The Saints junior made his return from two months on the sidelines with a quad injury on Sunday against the GWS Giants in the NEAFL.
First up, he collected 25 touches and kicked a goal — not a bad effort for your first game in two months.
The way the Suns are going in the AFL, they will need Bowes’ quality as soon as possible. Gold Coast are away to Collingwood at the ‘G this Sunday.

■ THEY call him Pee Wee and Port Douglas goalsneak Wayne Pavitt has a good sense of humour.
The well-travelled Victorian, who has kicked big bags of goals in plenty of leagues around Australia, copped a fair amount of abuse from a section of the crowd on Saturday.
The obnoxious supporters went at Pavitt for much of the afternoon and he would often reply with a thumbs up or wave when he kicked a goal.
Some of the abuse that was hurled over the fence towards Port Douglas in regards to the recent Jesse Mawson situation was also pretty unsavoury.

■ CAIRNS’ Charlie Dixon pressed his claims for an AFL recall as Port Adelaide left South Adelaide’s SANFL finals hopes in tatters on Saturday.
Dixon — sensationally dropped by coach Ken Hinkley for the Round 19 clash against GWS — overcame a slow start to kick three goals, worked hard and looked threatening when the ball went inside the Magpies’ 50m forward arc.
The big man from Cairns Saints would have to consider himself unlucky to be dropped to the SANFL after only a few weeks back from injury.
