A premium venue location in the heart of Cairns. Cazalys Stadium has grown in leaps in bounds over 50 years. The original iconic highset Queenslander Club house no longer standing has been replaced with a Grandstand and change rooms. In 2011 an additional change room facility costing 4.2m was built so the venue could host elite level sports, concerts and entertainment. In 2012 broadcast lights where installed to raise the stadiums profile and become Far North Queensland’s number one outdoor venue. With events ranging from AFL Premiership Matches, International Cricket and Elton John all entertaining Cairns locals and tourists.

Cazalys Stadium is the backbone of the AFL Cairns and hosts all finals football and local Club FC Manunda Hawks is based from. Cazalys Social club also located on the grounds of Cazalys Stadium on Mulgrave Road is an impressive entertainment hub with restaurant, sports bar and large functions room available.

Trinity Beach Sports Club, home to Centrals Trinity Beach, provides a fantastic entertainment venue for the Northern Beaches community. Newly renovated, the club offers a great dining area for families, fantastic new kids area, gaming room and a huge outdoor area overlooking the AFL oval.

Fretwell Park

57 Robert Road (Cnr Bicentennial Road), Bentley Park

South Cairns Social Club manages Fretwell Park Sporting Complex at Bentley Park in the southern suburb of Cairns. Fretwell Park Sporting Complex is available for hire.

Features include indoor sports stadium that can accommodate basketball, netball, futsal or volleyball; AFL oval; four changerooms and a licensed bar & gaming venue.

Fretwell Park is home of FC South Cairns Cutters, along with The Reef City Rollerderby, Ready Steady Go Kids, Southside Indoor Bowls and Cairns Hockey.  It is also utilised by Southside Strikers Softball Club as a training venue. Many of the schools in the southern suburbs also utilize Fretwell Park on a regular basis.

In 2016 South Cairns Social Club opened which features Bistro, sports bar overlooking the oval & viewing deck, gaming room, live entertainment any night of the week.

Griffiths Park

Conveniently located just a few minutes to the city centre, Griffiths Park is home to Cairns Saints Football Club, and shared with other local sporting clubs. With the recent unveiling of new change rooms, and a further upgrade of lighting, footpaths and parking in the pipeline, Griffiths Park is set to become an even more versatile sporting venue.

Holloways Beach Sporting Complex

Home to Cairns City Lions, Holloways Beach Sporting Complex, or Lion’s Den as it’s affectionately known by the club, is set amongst picturesque, tall native trees just a few streets back from the beach. With plenty of off-street parking, the family-friendly venue features a bar, bistro and gaming, and is open to members and visitors alike, 7 days a week.

Port Douglas Sporting Complex

The most northern AFL club on the east coast of Australia, Port Douglas Football Club boasts a fantastic home ground next to the marina with modern facilities and all in the foreground of the spectacular mountain backdrop which surrounds our stunning coastline.


Maher Road, Gordonvale

AFL Cairns’ newest junior clubs, the Gordonvale Suns began their rise here in 2022. Gordonvale, is a sugar town 25 kilometres south of Cairns city. With the awesome mountain, Walsh’s Pyramid (922 metres above sea level) dominating the backdrop, it’s a truly scenic venue.

Recent upgrades have seen the addition of unisex change rooms and amenities for home and away teams and umpires, a new canteen and storage, public toilet facilities and an undercover viewing area for supporters. The venue was previously home to the Pyramid Power

Watsons Oval

Cnr MacNamara & Behan Sts, Manunda

Since its modest beginnings in the 1970s, the clubhouse at Watsons Oval has seen some extensive extensions and renovations to become the quality venue it is today. In 2018 the venue had major renovations with a lighting & ground upgrade. This also include the addition of new change rooms, canteen, storage facilities and repairs to the clubhouse.  A well-utilised backup oval to Cazalys for junior and senior AFL matches. Watsons is home to the North Cairns Tigers.
